Diwali Days

This went up today in Royal Leamington Spa.

4 days before Remembrance Sunday.

20 metres from the War Memorial.

Diwali doesn't start until the 13th of November.

Answers on a postcard as to why this is appropriate please.

Update 16th November

Now the fucking thing looks like a cross between the Monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey and a Christmas tree.

Fiddlesticks!!!

  1. The sign says "We honour and celebrate" (among other things) Armistice Day and Christmas Day.

    What's your problem ?

  2. Ever heard the expression "trying to be the centre of attention" ?

  3. How's that multi-culti, 'include everything but the indigenous culture (those white racist bastards!)' workin' out for ya?

  4. I can now see why race and diversity played such a key role in your time in the forces. You clearly needed it to but it didn't work. Celebrating Diwali (or Deepawali if you're from the southern states of india) is not akin to pissing on a war memorial. However I would agree that stocking xmas decorations in Sainsburys in August is fucking evil and should be lampooned and reviled at any opportunity.
