The Tales of Alegria: Part One

My new book is now out. And I am beyond excited about it.

It's a children's book called "The Catastrophe of the Emerald Queen", aimed at kids aged 10 to 15-ish.

It is set in the alternate world of Alegria. A magical world of "Shimmering", loyalty & friendship, noble warriors and wicked villains.

It's available now on Kindle and soon as a paper book on Amazon internationally.

Blurb is:

"Eleven year old Sophie Roberts is in a coma in hospital following a car accident.

When bored and curious eleven year old boy Jared Miller stumbles upon a monstrous assassin in her room, he and Sophie are saved only by the intervention of a warrior from the magical world of Alegria, a world linked to our own by Sophie and a world which is in dire peril as long as she remains in her coma.

Kidnapped and taken to Alegria, Jared is the only person that can save the kingdom from the evil King James and restore it to its former peaceful glory.

But he is also the key that could bring an end to Alegria forever."

The Heroes

The Emerald Queen of Alegria

Taken from her kingdom through a terrible accident the loss of the much loved monarch throws Alegria into a vulnerable and dangerously weak position of helplessness.

Mordalayn: The Queen's Sword

The bodyguard to the Emerald Queen. His beloved lady in jeopardy, Mordalayn will do anything necessary to save both her and Alegria. Even if that means crossing into our world to do so.

Jared Miller

A bored, curious British boy of 11. Jared stumbles upon a monster in Warwick hospital in the room of coma victim Sophie Roberts. His blunder sees him taken on an adventure beyond imagination.

Bue

An orphaned 12 year old boy from Alegria. Cheeky, aggressive and disobedient. Bue is nevertheless a loyal friend and a marksman with a crossbow.

Leppard

Retired soldier and now tutor to Bue and the other boys in the orphanage. Teaches them how to use a crossbow and to hunt.

Madame Susan Veer

Strict but tender headmistress of the orphanage. A severe woman with a no nonsense attitude and a desire to protect the children in her care.

Challandra

16 year old house mistress of the orphanage. Calm in a crisis and a maternal figure to the young boys she looks after.

Kloee

A 12 inch-high fairy with a seriously bad temper. Argues and squabbles with her fellow fairies nearly all the time. Loyal to her master.....

Maximo Cherubsayl

A large, fat, bearded man who lives in a wonderful woodland house called The Cherubs. He has a collection of exotic flowers and animals. The talking Whimsical Sunflowers are the most treasured of his plants.

The Villains

Galfront Siavy

Former soldier, mercenary, killer and thief. Galfront sells his sword to the highest bidder and will gleefully sacrifice his own men to further his own ends.

King James

Ruler of rival kingdom Anghofio. King James brings new meaning to the phrase "complete and utter bastard".

The Glavers

Cackling, ugly monsters on hoverboards who kill their victims by picking them up and then dropping them from a great height.

Rancidrain

A bald, blind, malformed creature who tries to murder Sophie Roberts.

The King's Daggers

King James's elite battalion. The Special Forces of Anghofio. All under 35 and all bearded. They are feared, respected and despised for their brutality and ruthlessness.
